Who is this person?

About Me

I’m just a regular person that grew up playing  video games. I started the Black Retro Gamer Instagram and Facebook page as a way to share my love of gaming from “the good old days.” It’s been really fun to share the hobby I have loved since I was a child. It was also a great way to unwind after work.

In “real life” I was a graphic designer, Swing Dance instructor, and traveling DJ. Since the pandemic started affecting all of us, let’s just say I have had way too much free time. In order to stave off intense depression I started spending more time with the page starting with streaming some of my favorite old video games. It’s been a wonderful journey so far, learning the ropes of streaming and sharing with all of you.

I love playing games, sharing, and building community. It’s something that has me very excited to slowly upgrade everything and improve the page. I love playing games, sharing, and building community. It’s something that has me very excited to upgrade everything and improve the stream. Unfortunately, last week I had to replace all my internet equipment, and we all know how much that costs. With everything going on around us, it was a terrible time to spend a couple hundred bucks to get back online, but it needed to be done. Thankfully, (and surprisingly) a few community members asked how they can support the page.

Facebook hasn’t given me the option for subscriptions yet, so it would mean a great deal for anyone interested in supporting the page (and growing community) to donate directly via my Paypal, CashApp, or Venmo. Every little bit helps, and will go directly to getting back online, and further improving the stream.
